*Dr. Brian Badgwell – promising news in the use of HIPEC for Gastric cancers in his presentation: “Current Approaches: Surgical Options for Advanced Gastric Cancer with Peritoneal Metastases”
*Dr. Joel M. Baumgartner – outlined Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) in his presentation: “Future Approaches: Enhanced Recovery After CRS-HIPEC”
*Dr. Oliva Sgarbura – Discussed the promising future of PIPAC: “Future Approaches: PIPEC for Peritoneal Disease: What is the Evidence?”
In the Peritoneal Surface Malignancies Forum discussion of several recent studies were highlighted, including:
*Dr. Christopher Mangieri presenting research on neoadjuvant chemotherapy for high-grade appendiceal neoplasms in conjunction with CRS/HIPEC.
*Dr Nguyen-huong Doan on: Is Omentectomy Necessary During Cytoreduction and HIPEC in the Absence of Visible Omental Metastases? Results would indicate that it is still a good practice.
*Dr. Tyler J. Mouw presented a paper outlining efforts to standardize flow and distribution of HIPEC: “Using Computational Flow Dynamics to Optimize Drug Delivery Technique in HIPEC”.
