The ThermaSolutions ThermoChem HT-2000 was highlighted recently in a news story on WCVB-TV in Boston. From the story: “At Tufts Medical Center, doctors are already using the machine to heat the chemotherapy so it can be delivered during surgery to target other abdominal cancers. But recent studies have shown the procedure — abbreviated as HIPEC — is effective for some patients with late-stage ovarian cancer.”
The story calls HIPEC, “hot chemo”, a term used by physicians sometimes to describe the unique procedure used to treat not only ovarian-based cancers but other malignancies involving the peritoneal surfaces.
